Lions and Tigers and Bears… Oh My!

Lions and Tigers and Bears... It's Halloween! |Memee's Musings

Tomorrow is the big day we’ve all been leading up to, the most playful of all American holidays: Halloween! Did you carve your pumpkins and put them outside your door? If yes, did you take a picture and submit it to social media? And if yes, did you post a link to it on Memee’s Doorstep Pumpkin Challenge and/or tag it #DoorstepPumpkinChallenge? If no, well, there’s no time like the present because you are almost out of time! Weren’t you listening? Halloween is less than a day away! BTW, even I was able to carve my pumpkin despite the broken elbow. It turns out those silly 99-cent pumpkin carving tools really, really work!

Do you have a costume for each of your children… the human and furry ones? How about yourself? Creating a costume and dressing up is at least half of the fun. If you’re a last minute costume preparer, make time to do it today! I’d love to see my minions all dressed up in my comment section. Show me your alter egos! And, don’t worry, if you don’t have the funds you may be able to put something together like the best costume I ever saw… White Trash. I was at a Halloween party and she had a dirty white robe and slippers, messy hair (though you could do those vintage pink curlers!), bright pink, smeared lipstick, a lipstick stained (doesn’t have to be the same color, in fact better if it’s not) crunched-up bent and broken cigarette in her hands, some toilet paper dangling from her slipper and white plastic trash bags attached all over her robe. She looked like she’d literally rolled out from behind a dumpster of a 70s trailer park!

Did you buy enough candy? That’s important. You don’t want to be the one on your block with the T-P’d lawn in the morning. It’s a time-consuming clean up.

I am excited about the trick-or-treaters coming. This is the first year in 19 years I have lived in a neighborhood where I expect to see children, pets, and parents prowling the streets. I can hardly wait for tomorrow night!

Oh, and lastly, after all the spooky chaos of the evening don’t forget to set your clock back an hour! November 1st will be a whole new time zone!

Be safe, have fun, and watch out for those zombies… even the smallest ones can convert you!

fall back
