#WCW Hook ’em with a quote

โ€œI love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.โ€
โ€• Douglas Adams, The Salmon of Doubt

It is Words Crush Wednesday once again and I find myself busy with the Writing 101 course that is put out by Blogging U. ย So last week when I saw that one of our assignments was to “Hook ’em with a quote” I knew immediately I’d be putting that assignment on hold until now.

The quote I have chosen jumped out at me as

  1. Fun
  2. Relevant
  3. Timely

And here’s why: ย I had just moments before been reading through my classmates submissions for the day and ran across Jim’s post entitled, “Writing 101, Catching Up, Day 3 and Day 4.” Like Jim, I didn’t get started on my assignments on Day One, however I feel no rush to “catch up” with my peers. ย I have been doing the assignments out of order when they appeal or inspire me. ย I have always wanted to do things my way. ย A scrapbooking class? ย You bet, I’m there; can’t wait! ย Thanks for the materials… Ah look, how cute, you all did the exact same page! ย Nope, not me. ย I gotta be uniquely me. ย My vocation requires strict adherence to guidelines and deadlines so when it comes to my avocations I just gotta let my hair down and swing from the trees like Jane.

Woosh!

    1. Hi Ann. Words Crush Wednesday, yes, it is a fun easy post that uses a quote to inspire or simply just stand alone. There are “rules” to playing which are listed in every one of my #wcw posts. However, I created a post on how to play. I probably won’t run it until next Wednesday though.

You can revisit this post to review the rules or check out my other #wcw posts here.

Thanks for your question, I hope to begin enjoying quotes from you in the future!

  2. Ok, I explored your link and I think it’s favourite quotes used to write a post on Wednesdays?

    1. It’s just frustrating to see people who have been at it one month with more followers than I have for over a year of blogging. I took off the # and now I don’t worry about it any more. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am writing less now but only because it’s about me again not about writing for my followers. I hope they read, enjoy and stay. But I got to do this for me or it isn’t worth it.

  4. Hi Brianna,
    Thanks for writing me back.
    1. I would be frustrated too. Then I try to get perspective. Maybe they are blogging about a more popular topic than I am. Maybe they are funny. There are so many factors that come into play.
    2. I think your idea to remove the number of subscribers is a good one if it results in a happier blogging experience.

    1. Of course! Removing the number definately took the “slap across my face” feel out of coming to my blog. It’s working for me. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you.
