If you’d like to play along in Words Crush Wednesday (#wcw) just cut/paste and follow these simple rules:
(1) Always pingback to the site you discovered #wcw on with every Words Crush Wednesday post. In this case, that’s me: memeesmusings.com!
(2) In your post, use the badge they’ve created just for you – In this case, you’d use the Panda badge (size doesn’t matter)
(3) Tag your post #wcw so other players can find you
(4) Optional: When you are ready, create your own badge for those you inspire to play Words Crush Wednesday. If you do not create your own badge then your inspirees MUST use the badge from the blogger who inspired you, so be sure to make it easy for them to find.
That’s pretty easy.
So, for example, my first two #wcw posts I had not yet created a badge to pass along to my teammates so those posts have the #wcw badge that was created by Lisa who I discovered the game through. When I had decided I liked the Words Crush Wednesday posts I committed to making a badge to pass along to all of you. I used Canva.com to do it. If you haven’t discovered Canva yet, it’s a great tool, you’ll use it a lot.
Choose a quote. Write your post. Cut & Paste the rules listed above into your post (but be sure to change the line “In this case that’s me, Memee’s Musings” to represent you and your website. Insert the #WCW badge and create a pingback to the referrer as a footnote to your post. I keep the rules and footnote together so it’s one simple cut and paste each week. The badge changes sizes and moves around my post depending on how things look.
Want to see some examples? Here’s some quotes:
Dr. Seuss
John Wayne
C.S. Lewis
Did you see how my pingback is tiny and doesn’t distract yet adheres to the rules? The cool thing is when you use the pingback I can read your post and maybe even feature it on a Sunday Calling Card. And the badge, well, let’s be honest: it’s a cute, fun way to advertise your blog on someone else’s post. So I really encourage you to create a #wcw badge with your blog name on it to use after your first #wcw so that your readers will spread you around like butter! 🙂
